EU Black Tea refers to black tea products that meet the EU's food safety standards for imports. These teas are strictly regulated during the production process to ensure that their quality and safety meet EU requirements.
Growing conditions
EU black tea is suitable for growing in warm and humid subtropical climatic conditions, which generally requires an annual temperature between 15-25 degrees Celsius and an annual precipitation between 1,500-2,000 millimetres. Such climatic conditions are conducive to the natural environment of the tea tree and the fermentation process of the tea leaves. European black tea is suitable for growing in acidic soil, with the pH value of the soil between 4.5-6.5 being the most appropriate.
Brewing method
Brew with boiling water at 90~100℃, with a weight ratio of tea to water of 1:50, using white porcelain cups or white porcelain gaiwan bowls. Boil the water first, then warm the cup to stimulate the tea aroma. After putting in the right amount of tea leaves, wash the tea with boiling water. Depending on personal taste, in general, one teaspoon of tea leaves (about 2.5 grams) will make one cup of black tea. For fluffier tea leaves with intact leaves, you can add more in moderation, while finely chopped tea leaves should be reduced in moderation. Depending on the type and size of the tea leaves, the brewing time will vary. Generally speaking, finely chopped tea leaves need a shorter steeping time (about 2-2.5 minutes), while complete tea leaves with large leaves can be steeped for slightly more time (about 3.5-4 minutes) to allow the tea leaves to fully unfurl, and then pour out the tea broth. For subsequent brewing, adjust the steeping time according to the unfolding of the tea leaves to maintain the consistency and flavour of the tea broth.
